Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

  • Equity Commitment Statement

It is inherent in our campus’s mission and vision to create welcoming, safe and supportive environments for all students, staff and families; therefore, we are taking steps to actively work towards being fully anti-racist, not only in word, but also in policy, practice, and accountability. HBHS commits to actively cultivating and promoting diversity, equity and inclusion by embedding these key tenets as part of our organizational values and decision-making principles.

No matter where they intersect, we want to support students, staff, and community members’ intersectional rights, including culture, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, language access, physical disability, mental disability, medical condition, citizenship status, socioeconomic status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable state or federal law, so that all members of the community are treated at all times with dignity and respect.

As a whole HBHS recognizes that we have a lot of work to do to be a truly inclusive educational community. We pledge to do the necessary work to be intentional about meeting the needs of all HBHS students.  We aspire to provide a robust and rigorous educational program that engages, challenges and supports every learner, honors students’ varied lived experiences and fosters feelings of empathy and belonging.
