English 2 is a literature-based course, which integrates writing, literature, vocabulary, speaking and listening, and library research skills. Students learn the writing process as the write in various domains for a variety of purposes. English 2 meets university entrance requirements and is approved for Scholar with Distinction, Scholar with Honors and Scholar with Expertise programs.
English Honors 2
Length: 1 year
Grade Level: 10
Prerequisites: A grade of B or higher in English honors 1 and/or teacher recommendation. Summer assignment required. Fees involved for materials.
This course is designed for outstanding and serious students. It is an accelerated course that is literature-based. Class discussions, projects, reading and writing assignments, and homework are structured to stimulate high levels of critical thinking and to develop the ability to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate. English honors 2 is approved for Scholar with Distinction, Scholar with Honors and Scholar with Expertise programs.
