MLA Format
Why use this site?
It’s the night before the day your BIG essay is due in English and you are almost done, but one thing haunts you…you cannot remember how to put together your Works Cited page and how to cite your quotations; furthermore, your English teacher has been warning you for weeks about that MLA format stuff and that she will take points off if you do not have everything cited properly. You are thinking, why didn’t I pay attention to this in class?

But suddenly you remember your teacher saying something about a web page with helpful MLA formatting information. You think to yourself, “I can always go to the MLA Format help link and research the answers to my questions there!” Sure, paying attention in class would guarantee you could get to bed about 15 minutes earlier (or more), but at least you have the answers at your disposal—even if it is 2 AM.

Who created this site?
The Purdue University Online Writing Lab.

Why is this a good site?
It is a well-researched and up to date compilation of MLA Format information.

What I should NOT expect from this site?
You should not expect that someone will write or proof read your paper for you. That’s your job. Make sure you proof read in order to catch all those tiny (but costly) mistakes. Good luck.

In conclusion, this is an excellent resource for any questions regarding the format of your essays (which must be done in MLA format).
