Reminder! If you are a student who was approved
for free or reduced price meals last year and have been getting your
meal benefits for the start of this school year, you need to have
an application submitted to re-qualify for the 2008-9 school year.
September 30th is the LAST day you will be served based on last year’s
approval. If you have not re-qualified, you will not be able to receive
a free or reduced price meal. Please be sure to submit your applications

Juniors and seniors…the Career Center is hosting numerous colleges
here at HBHS. On Tuesday, September 30th, Mt. St. Mary’s and
Arizona State, on Wednesday, October 1, University of Colorado at
Boulder, on Thursday, October 2nd, Seattle University and on Friday,
North Carolina School of the Arts. For specific times, please see
our website and don’t forget to pick up a permission slip ahead

If you have received an “A” in a class and wish to become
a peer tutor earning $10 per hour, please pick up an application from
Mrs. Wakeman in the Career Center.
All juniors and motivated sophomores…the PSAT will be on Saturday,
October 18th. You may register for the test from September 22nd through
October 8th in the Finance Office. The cost of the test is $20.

Attention seniors…Grad Night tickets are on sale now for $150.
Ticket prices will go up after October 31st, so buy NOW before they
do. Grad Night is an all night evening celebration filled with prizes,
food, games and so much more! Forms were mailed home in the school
newsletter and are also available on hboilers.com or in front of Julie
Engquist’s office.
Come to the Game of the Week…Girls’ volleyball is tomorrow
at 5:30 against Fountain Valley.

Country teams and their races at the Dana Hills Invitational on Saturday.

HBHS Girls’ Field Hockey League play begins Wednesday at Marina
and then at HOME on Thursday, October 2nd against Fountain Valley.

Animal Shelter Services Club now meets again every Thursday at lunch
in room J14. This is a great way to help out animals and earn community
service credit. Come on by and check it out!

the Junior Statesmen of America, the central political forum at HBHS;
looks great on college applications and prestigious awards presented

convening at the 2nd annual congress on Thursday, October 2nd at lunch.

Congratulations to all of the PAL members who raised $1000 in support
of Parkersburg High School in Aplington, Iowa. All of you did a great

Pink Ribbon Club members…the first meeting for the Pink Ribbon
Club will be this Wednesday, October 1st in Ms. Rehberger’s
room, P1 in the portables. Help fight breast cancer by attending our
first meeting!
Hey Spanish Club members…our first meeting will be on Tuesday,
September 30th at lunch in room B10. This is an important meeting.
We will go over what the club will do this year, important dates and

The United Cultural Club meeting scheduled for today has been cancelled.
The meeting will be rescheduled.
There will be a 12-Step Recovery meeting on Thursday, from 6-7 p.m.
in the Library. Attend a meeting and earn 2 hours detention credit.
