Reminder! If you are a student who was approved
for free or reduced price meals last year and have been getting your
meal benefits for the start of this school year, you need to have
an application submitted to re-qualify for the 2008-9 school year.
September 30th is the LAST day you will be served based on last year’s
approval. If you have not re-qualified, you will not be able to receive
a free or reduced price meal. Please be sure to submit your applications

Juniors and seniors…the Career Center is hosting numerous colleges
here at HBHS. On Tuesday, September 30th, Mt. St. Mary’s and
Arizona State, on Wednesday, October 1, University of Colorado at
Boulder, on Thursday, October 2nd, Seattle University and on Friday,
North Carolina School of the Arts. For specific times, please see
our website and don’t forget to pick up a permission slip ahead

If you have received an “A” in a class and wish to become
a peer tutor earning $10 per hour, please pick up an application from
Mrs. Wakeman in the Career Center.
All juniors and motivated sophomores…the PSAT will be on Saturday,
October 18th. You may register for the test from September 22nd through
October 8th in the Finance Office. The cost of the test is $20.
If you did not pick up your school photos, come to the Activities
office during break, lunch and after 2:37 p.m. today. This is your
last opportunity to pick them up in the Activities Office.
Sign up for the HBHS Dodge ball Tournament in the Activities Office.
The Tournament will be during lunch. 6 people to a team; 3 guys and
3 girls, $5 per person.
Are you a great singer? Do you have pride in your country? Try outs
for the National Anthem for the Homecoming assembly are October 2nd

It's that time again....APA Walk for the Arts time. Please continue
to gather your donations and turn them into the APA office along with
your “Walk Envelope” as soon as possible. The walk itself
happens Friday, September 26th, starting with signing in at the Student
Center at 2:45 p.m., then walking to Lake Park with the other APA
students and APA teachers and staff followed by a BBQ, games, prizes
and fun. Be there or be at home, playing X-Box all by yourself. (End

Hey Oilers…got a teacher you really like? Well then vote for
Teacher of the Month for September in the Activities Office.
No 5th/6th stickers will be available in the Supervision office starting
Wednesday, 9/17. Please bring your ID card to the Supervision office
for your sticker. The process requires a 24-hour turn around time.

Ticket prices will go up after October 31st, so buy NOW before they
do. Grad Night is an all night evening celebration filled with prizes,

Animal Shelter Services Club now meets again every Thursday at lunch
in room J14. This is a great way to help out animals and earn community
service credit. Come on by and check it out!

the Junior Statesmen of America, the central political forum at HBHS;
looks great on college applications and prestigious awards presented
