Textbooks for Geometry, Chemistry, Pre-calculus, Pre-calculus Honors
and Algebra 2 will be available for check out on Monday, September
22nd in the Textbook room.
Juniors and seniors…if you are interested in meeting the college
reps from Cal Baptist or UC Santa Barbara, come to the Career Center
and pick up a permission slip. Reps will be onsite Tuesday for Cal
Baptist and Thursday for UCSB.
If you have received an “A” in a class and wish to become
a peer tutor earning $10 per hour, please pick up an application from
Mrs. Wakeman in the Career Center.
All juniors and motivated sophomores…the PSAT will be on Saturday,
October 18th. You may register for the test from September 22nd through
October 8th in the Finance Office. The cost of the test is $20.
All students must have an ID card. If you took a picture for an ID
the first day of school, these are now ready to be picked up in the
Activities Office. If you did not take a photo for an ID, come to
the Activities Office. The hours are tutorial, break, lunch and after
school up to 3:15 p.m.
Oilers…don’t forget. Make up photos will be taken
on Monday, September 22nd in the gym from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you
had a photo taken for an ID in the Activities Office and if you want
your photo in the yearbook, you must go to the gym on Monday, This
is the ONLY day that make up photos will be taken to ensure that your
picture will be in the yearbook. Don’t be left out.
If you did not pick up your school photos yesterday, come to the
Activities office during break, lunch and after school.
For all the freshmen Oilers who are interested in being a part of
the ASB family at Huntington, packets for class officers are available
all week in the Activities Office. ASB is a great way to be involved
in the school and looks good for colleges. Packets are due next week!

Hey seniors…applications for Senior of the Month are now available
in the Activities Office. Stop by and pick up a packet. Have them
completed by the 25th of each month for eligibility.
Sign up for the HBHS Dodge ball Tournament in the Activities Office.
The Tournament will be during lunch. 6 people to a team; 3 guys and
3 girls, $5 per person. Sign ups begin Monday, September 22nd.
Homecoming is only a month away. Please make sure that you have served
all Saturday School and detention hours PRIOR to tickets going on
sale. Also remember, Citizenship grades matter. If you have two “U’s”
in citizenship, you will not be able to attend the Homecoming Dance.

It's that time again....APA Walk for the Arts time. Please continue
to gather your donations and turn them into the APA office along with
your “Walk Envelope” as soon as possible. The walk itself
happens Friday, September 26th, starting with signing in at the Student
Center at 2:45 p.m., then walking to Lake Park with the other APA
students and APA teachers and staff followed by a BBQ, games, prizes
and fun. Be there or be at home, playing X-Box all by yourself. (End

Teacher of the Month for September in the Activities Office.
No 5th/6th stickers will be available in the Supervision office starting
Wednesday, 9/17. Please bring your ID card to the Supervision office
for your sticker. The process requires a 24-hour turn around time.

Parking permits must be displayed at all times. Student parking is
available in the student parking lot off of 17th street. No students

Attention Oilers…here’s a great way to earn some spending
money of your own. Cashiering positions are available in the cafeteria.
No need to leave campus. Earn money while at school. You must be at
least 14 years old. Contact Mrs. Elena Gonzalez in the cafeteria for

started last year and raised over $5,000 for Darfur while raising

Attention all returning PAL members…this Saturday is a mandatory
car wash for the victims in Parkessburg, Iowa. All PAL members must
help in the contribution for the victims. Please see Mr. O about selling

Do you think you can wow us? Participate in the 2008-2009 Reflections
contest! The Theme is “Wow!” Entry forms and rules are
available in the Activities Office. All entries must be submitted
by Friday, October 3rd at 3 p.m.
Class ring orders will be taken next Tuesday, September 23rd by the
Student Center before school and during break and lunch. Samples of
all rings and stones will be on display at time of order. Extra ordering
packets are available in the Activities Office.
HBHS Boys’ Soccer try outs will be held after school today
and next Tuesday, September 23rd from 3:30-5 p.m. Try outs will be
